PISI’s past clients have described PISI as a unique and helpful counseling public charity based on its approach, and a terrific, dependable resource in times of crisis.
Work through your issues, and live a better life starting today!
PISI has been receiving an abundant amount of referrals for anger management/resolution counseling. As a result, we put into operation a new program, “The Anger Resolution Program” a.k.a. TARP. You will obtain assistance from certified anger resolution therapists. We do work with individuals whose financial situation may have been a barrier to seeking counseling services and this is done through a sliding scale fee that is relative to a family's combine income. Our fees are reasonable and were designed to provide individuals with a resource to help them through troubled times.
IMPORTANT: PISI does not provide assessment for anger without group (class) counseling. All persons mandated by the legal system will have both an assessment and group (class) counseling.
Whether a person voluntarily enters the program or is mandated by the legal system, TARP is open to anyone wishing to better improve his or her anger concerns.
Time is a luxury few people have. As individuals and families struggle with relational distress, anger, chemical dependency and persistent emotional reactions, the clock keeps ticking. Make the call to set up an appointment with PISI today!

Individual, Couples, and Group Counseling At times life is just difficult and things are not going the way you wanted them to go. Often these situations are easily managed but we all face times of feeling alone with no one who seems to understand or know how to help.
Counseling can help. Research studies and personal testimony support how effective counseling can be. The social, emotional, and academic concerns that occur occasionally in everyone's life can generate conflicts and questions. Such concerns can make it difficult for a person to function in a satisfying manner. Concerns about poor grades, career indecision, interpersonal relationships, depression, feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, loneliness, sexual concerns, and conflicts related to one's family, marriage, or relationships are difficulties that people may encounter.
PISI has kind, empathetic listeners with years of experience. PISI has dealt with all kinds of situations and issues. PISI provides an atmosphere where personal concerns of any type can be examined and discussed freely and confidentially. Such an atmosphere increases the chances that problems and conflicts will be resolved. Through the counseling process, you may come to see yourself and others in a different light, learn how to change self-defeating habits and attitudes, and increase your sensitivity to others.
Most individuals find therapy beneficial in making positive changes in thoughts, feeling, and behaviors. Occasionally people feel that therapy does not help. In some rare instances, people feel that therapy makes a situation worse. Even the most successful therapy may involve remembering unpleasant events, becoming aware of certain thoughts, or experiencing strong emotions. Therapy may also impact relationships with significant others. We encourage you to share any concerns you may have about the therapy process with your therapist so that she/he may respond to these concerns.
When you first contact the PISI, a staff member will take some general information including contact information and a general description of the concern. The staff member will then schedule you for an initial appointment. During the initial appointment, also known as an intake, a counselor will gather more detailed information including personal history, the reason(s) for seeking counseling at this particular time, and your goals for counseling. Once the counselor that should be the best fit for your individual concerns. You will then be contacted by that particular counselor and will schedule appointments with him or her as long as you see fit.
In addition to individualized counseling services, PISI offers a wide variety of groups. Specialized groups can be organized. PISI offers groups and workshops each quarter. They include therapy, counseling, and support groups as well as single or multiple-session workshops. Groups may focus on issues (depression, incest, relationships, substance abuse), specific populations (women, men, African American, Hispanic, Asian, gay men, ABD students), and general therapy. Workshops may be offered on such topics as success strategies, stress management, test anxiety, healthy relationships, diversity, and career planning. If you have an interest in a particular group, please contact PISI.
You can call it what you want: counseling, psychotherapy, coaching, advice, therapy, relationship counseling, or marriage counseling, but it all boils down to one thing: getting the help you need to live a full, happy, productive and emotionally healthy life. Sometimes, in this modern, stressful world, we need to work certain things out, be they personal, business, emotional, relationships or other issues. If you are feeling overwhelmed, like you can’t handle life on your own, a few counseling sessions may be just what you need--sometimes it only takes one. The personal help you get from counseling can help you regain your confidence and allow you to accomplish your goals in good time.
The goal of counseling is to relieve your personal stress and enhance the quality of your life. PISI style of counseling is individually structured to your personal style and problem. Some examples of strategies used when planning therapy sessions and goals would be solution-oriented counseling, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistics, gestalt therapy, client-centered counseling, anger management and relationship counseling.

We appreciate support in all forms and are especially grateful for financial support from individuals like you!
